چکیده
PURPOSE: Although condyle is one of the frequent site of fracture in the mandible, anatomical and functional complexity of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) make the treatment policy of mandibular condyle fracture controversial. 2,3 Watanabe et al. reported a novel treatment for mandibular condylar fractures: a dynamic distraction treatment. 4 This application of a dynamic internal distraction device is an effective and minimally invasive treatment; however, in our substantial experience on dynamic distraction treatment, we occasionally encounter rare cases in which resulted insufficient reduction of the fractured bony fragments. The purpose of this study is to investigate our clinical cases retrospectively, and establish a novel therapeutic strategy of mandibular condyle fracture.

The successful withdrawal of a migrated central venous catheter
Background: Central venous catheters (CVCs) have been used widely in clinics. These catheters are also recommended for children and infants receiving chemotherapy and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and etc. In this paper, we present migrated fractured control line of the heart of a girl. Case Presentation: A 2.5 year old girl with migrated of the fractured central line into the heart. In the ...
متن کاملVenous thromboembolism following microsurgical breast reconstruction: an objective analysis in 225 consecutive patients using low-molecular-weight heparin prophylaxis.
BACKGROUND Free flap breast reconstruction involves major risk factors for postsurgical venous thromboembolism. The main study objectives were (1) to estimate objectively the incidence of symptomatic and asymptomatic lower extremity deep vein thrombosis in patients who received postoperative thromboprophylaxis after free flap breast reconstruction, (2) to evaluate the safety of low-molecular-we...
متن کاملDirect Open Venous Drainage: An Alternative Choice for Flap Congestion Salvage
In this report, we present a scalp defect reconstruction with lateral arm free flap. We highlight the difficulty in obtaining a recipient vein and the venous drainage managed through an open end of the donor vein. A 52-year-old woman presented with a pressure sore on the left scalp. A lateral arm free flap was transferred to cover this 8×6 cm defect. The arterial anastomosis was successful, but...
متن کاملA catheter malpositioned patient with pain and paresthesia
We report a 54-year-old woman with the history of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) who was admitted to our hospital because of volume overload. Due to long-term use of peripheral veins and arteriovenous fistula (AVF) failure, central venous catheterization was the only choice for hemodialysis. She developed right upper extremiti’s pain and paresis during hemodialysis. A posteroanterior chest x-ra...
متن کاملMassive Nasal Arterio-Venous Malformation (AVM) Excision and Reconstruction with Expanded Forehead Flap: A Case Report
Nasal arterio-venous malformations (AVM) are uncommon lesions. We present a rare case of huge, long standing AVM in the nasal area which was treated by angioembolization, followed by surgical excision and forehead flap reconstruction.
